How to Estimate Landed Cost from China to Thailand
Build a complete import budget by separating product cost, logistics, duties, taxes and other charges without double counting.

Start with a complete cost list
Landed cost is the cost of getting goods to the location you define, such as your Bangkok warehouse. Write that destination into the estimate. A port-delivered estimate is different from a warehouse-delivered estimate.
Your planning model may include goods, origin handling, freight, insurance, destination handling, customs brokerage, duties, import taxes, testing or permits, local delivery and payment charges. Allocate one-time setup and inspection costs where useful. Check the quotation terms before adding any item: some costs may already be included.
Separate cash outlay from inventory cost
Track the money required to complete the shipment, including taxes paid at import. Separately ask your accountant which amounts form inventory cost and whether any tax is recoverable for your business. Do not automatically treat every tax payment as a permanent cost or assume it can be recovered.
A hypothetical planning example
Goods: THB 40,000. Logistics and handling: THB 8,000. Confirmed duty/tax cash provision for this fictional example: THB 5,000. Other shipment costs: THB 2,000. Total planned cash outlay: THB 55,000. If 500 units are saleable, that is THB 110 cash outlay per unit. These figures illustrate arithmetic only; they are not actual freight prices, tax rates or customs valuation rules.
If only 480 units are saleable, the same outlay becomes approximately THB 114.58 per saleable unit. Product price alone misses this effect.
Validate the estimate
Ask a qualified broker to confirm classification, customs valuation, duty treatment, tax bases and documentation for the actual shipment. Confirm any preferential treatment rather than assuming goods from China are duty-free. Keep currency, dates, quote validity, included charges and unknowns visible. Add a separate contingency for uncertainty without describing it as an official fee.
